The basic app is free: barcode scan, manual tracking, symptom diary, Apple Health sync and your local data — all without a subscription. Pro (monthly or yearly, the yearly plan with a 7-day trial; the App Store shows the price in your currency) unlocks unlimited AI scans, AI correction and the weekly AI report.

First locally in an SQLite database on your device — the app works completely offline. With an account, also on our server in Germany (HTTPS-encrypted). Health data is only processed with your explicit consent (Art. 9 GDPR). No ad trackers; usage statistics only with your consent (EU hosting).

Yes. Tago is built offline-first. Barcode products are cached after the first lookup, and the generic foods of the German Nutrient Database (BLS, 15,000+ entries, currently with German names) are stored entirely on your device. Only AI scans and server sync need an internet connection.

Yes, both ways. Tago reads steps, activities, weight and water from Apple Health — and can write logged workouts, weight and water back. You grant the permissions separately in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices.

In the app: Profile → Privacy & data → Delete account. All server data is permanently removed. Local data is deleted by uninstalling the app. Alternatively, email sven@jointago.app — we confirm the deletion within 72 hours.

Yes. The AI (Gemini 2.5 Flash-Lite) reliably recognises dishes in German, English, Italian, Spanish and French. For unusual spellings you can still adjust the recognised portion in the detail view — nutrition values scale live.
